The antibacterial filament abFil PLA 850 is made in Spain from PLA INGEO 3D850 from NatureWorks and has antibacterial protection, certified with ISO 22196, thanks to the incorporation of silver ions.
The antibacterial filament abFil PLA 850 is made in Spain from PLA INGEO 3D850 from NatureWorks and has antibacterial protection, certified with ISO 22196, thanks to the incorporation of silver ions.
The PLA INGEO 3D850 is fully biodegradable and developed specifically for use in 3D printing. It is considered the best PLA on the market since it allows a higher printing speed and provides better mechanical properties compared to other PLA filaments. In addition, its thermal properties (rapid crystallization) give it a higher cooling speed, which translates into better definition.
Silver ions have 3 ways of acting on bacteria that ensure their effectiveness: they prevent bacterial growth, interfere with the production of enzymes, preventing the cell from producing energy, and interrupt the replication of its DNA. . The main advantage over other antibacterial technologies is that silver ions become part of the part itself and is not a coating. This gives permanent protection to the piece without disappearing its effect over time. Silver ions have a proven efficacy of 99.99% in inhibiting bacterial growth, offering protection against bacteria such as Aspergillus niger, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Legionella, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus Aureus or Salmonella enteritidis among others.
The 3DFils manufacturing process guarantees excellent quality, with a standard deviation of 0.01 mm and a maximum tolerance of 0.03 mm, which ensure smooth and jam-free printing. The ovality below 1% allows a more uniform application of layers, improving the final finish of the piece.
